Lecturer of English/Focus on Psychology and Education

The Language Centre of the University of Bamberg invites applications, effective immediately,for a two-year contract as lecturer of English with a focus on Psychology and Education.                                                                  (50 %, remunerated on the 13 TV-L pay scale).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
• Language instruction includes nine 45-minute lesson units per week   (English courses for students of all subjects, but particularly for undergraduate students and doctoral  fcandidates in the fields of psychology, education and teaching).
• Independent course execution and curriculum development
• Teaching general language skills
• Teaching subject-specific language and academic skills, particularly relating to reading and  writing empirical papers in Psychology and Education
• Participation in administering examinations (marking, proctoring).
Key requirements for employment include:
Ø competence as a native speaker of English,
Ø  a completed university degree programme,and preferably a doctorate/PhD in Psychology or Education,     
Ø good knowledge of empirical research methods,
Ø  good German skills,    
Ø appropriate teaching experience and the ability to work independently.
A qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and knowledge of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and its implications for teaching and examinations are desirable.
