Independence Day swap shop: Teaching Americana

Come and join us for an enjoyable afternoon of sharing tips on teaching the language(s) and culture(s) of the USA. What are your favorite texts and media, games and concepts relating to the country, and how do you use them in the classroom?
We will be putting together a program with your contributions. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Resources to explore for a better understanding of the presidential elections
- Using podcasts and vodcasts for comprehension
- Idiomatic American English with songs
- Reading and games in Intercultural Business Communication USA/Germany
- Handling anti-American sentiment in the classroom
- Finding pen pals, exchange programs and internships in the USA
Please get in touch with us soon with your ideas.
We will also be having some American-style refreshments. Who can volunteer to bring goodies, such as muffins, popcorn, ice tea and oreos?
Experience shows that these "home-grown" events are among the most productive in getting your creative juices going and stocking up on practical new things to try out with your students.
